I made the leap from making jewelry for friends to selling my pieces to the public in 2010 while raising money so that I could take a volunteer trip to Tanzania to work with children. I was forever changed by my time in East Africa, and so much of the experience was a result of an overwhelming support of my jewelry. Even now, years later, I am absolutely blown away and humbled every time I see someone choose to buy a piece of my jewelry.
Because the very beginning was based on giving back, so should be the ongoing commitment. A percentage of proceeds has supported a number of organizations over the years, including Heifer International, Sisters 4 Survivors, The Portland Rescue Mission, and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A percentage of proceeds from sales of my jewelry will continue to be donated to organizations in need. Check the blog for current recipients!
